There is literally mile after mile of beautiful coast line, often deserted, and within easy reach of the city. Surfing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing are just some of the activities you can enjoy. Popular beaches are Cottesloe, North Cottesloe, City Beach and Scarborough. Swanbourne is a popular nudist beach. Buses run from outside Sullivans to both Cottesloe and North Cottesloe, about a 20 minute journey.

Anytime is a good time to experience the W.A. coastline. Its not only the beaches that make this area popular, the Scarborough Market is a growing attraction open at weekends, and there are some lovely cafés in this area. The Harbour also houses Underwater World, which is open 7 days a week. Whale watching is also a favourite pastime from August to November along the coast line. Boat Charter companies offer full and half day trips. A couple of other beaches you may want to try are WATERMAN'S BAY/NORTH BEACH/ HAMERSLEY/ METTAMS POOL - small bays providing very safe reef-protected areas for families.
